Panel session on the World Association of Marine Stations and World Congress of Marine Stations
Session description
There is currently support from the marine community to move forward with the full establishment of the World Association of Marine Stations (WAMS), a key element of the MARS (European Network of Marine Stations) Strategy. The United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) has stimulated a renewed interest in WAMS and thus provides a valuable window of opportunity to move forward with this initiative.

The special session of MARESEDU-2020 on marine stations will be structured as a panel discussion with current WAMS working group members. The session will also provide space for short presentations from the audience about marine stations or networks that they represent. Session is aimed towards anyone with interest in networking and research opportunities provided by marine stations globally.
